Abstract (EN)

Turgut Özal who was appointed to Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey by minority government formed by Justice Party in 1979, ensured the 24 January Decisions which are always been a matter of debate. This decisions carried into effect by Turgut Özal who appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey responsible for the economy by 44th government of Turkey which formed after 1980 Turkish coup d'état; but put into practice by Motherland Party which founded by and rose to power by himself following the elections of November 6, 1983. After this election Özal won both the local election of November 25, 1984 and general election of 29 November 1987 and on October 31, 1989 became the eighth president of Turkey. During his reign great develpments has been made in the fields of both urban and cultural aspects of Turkey. Özal deceased on April 17, 1993.
