Suggestions for the use of encaustic tiles produced according to Turkish encaustic tiles art end mosaic techniques in the contemporary decoration

SUMMARY By decorating the objects in use giving them a nice apppearance has been one of the first wishes of the human beings. The other name for decoration is adoring or embellishment. It both expresses encaustic tile art within visual means provides a richness within the frame work of art. There are several techniques used in the production of encaustic tile.lVlosaic encaustic tile, which is one of them, constitutes the abstract of this research. 1 tried to approach to today's art and decoration understanding through mosaic encaustic tile technique and made examples both on a contemporary architectural place and applicable studies. Thus providing suplement to the our today's art application is aimed accordingly. This study presented in three chapters. in the first chapter the production of encaustic tile have been examined by classifying them according to technological features. In the second chapter the utilization areas of mosaic technique within its historical development. After disputing its place in the decorative meaning, 1 gave general information related with decoration. On the other hand, in the third chapter I presented examples of application constituted by means of mosaic technique.Under the light of these thoughts I provided drafts to be used in a contemporary architectural site.
