The impact og the works of graphic designer İhap Hulusi Gorey on graphic designers and their works

Graphic design is to translate an information into a message by using writing, photo and color. Borned in 1898 , Ihap Hulusi went to Germany for painting education in 1920. HE worked at Heimann Schule studio in Munich for three years.Then he completed his education in Kunstgewerbe Schule and returned to Turkey. Ihap Hulusi stated that a poster should attract the audience and make there think.After establishing his very first studio in Istanbul in 1929, Ihap Hulusi designed the label of Clup Rakı and the cover of Alphabet . Also he worked with several private companies such as Ziraat, Is, Yapı Kredi and Garanti. Besides water color painting, Ihap Hulusi Gorey modernized calligraphy and gave successful examplesnin this field. and he passed away in İstanbul on 27th of March, 1986 , while he was 88. He has been a pioneer for lots of artist in his era and today. He still continues to enlighten us with his precious art pieces. In this study, I analyzed the products of Ihap Hulusi visually and also reviewed the other works which have similar features with the designs of Gorey. I try to demonstrate the definition of graphic design, life of Ihap Hulusi Gorey his designs and the importance of his designs.After that I have reviwed the people who were influenced by Ihap Hulusi and their works.
