Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to discuss the concept of `Folk Music Radio? as a case study of revival or music revivals terms which make possible to analyse of `Folk Music Radio? that is a component of mass media of Turkish Folk Music Revival.The article of Tamara Livingston (1999,67) which is fundamental basis of this research theoretically is used in many places of the research in terms of conceptual definitions.At the first part of the research, Turkish Folk Music Revival, its basic characteristics and the concept of `Folk Music Radio? as a component of mass media are handled, in the second part; to locate radio in the mass communications and `Folk Music Radio? as `Music Radio? are worked on.In respect of the content, because this research is a case study, publish mission,general profile, the compatibility with internet technology, incoming sources and the music and lyrics programs of Can Radio and Demokrat Radio which are using Turkish Folk Music frequently in their broadcastings are handled. The observations in places where the radio stations broadcast, the meetings and discussions done with radio broadcasters, the formed information with program analysis are given meaning with respect to the concept of music revival.As a result of the research, as an example of `Folk Music Radio? concept,which is a part of case study of music revivals, the area research on Demokrat Radio and Can Radio, as a conclusion of these two examples, the radios that are national and local and equal valued are also worked on. The importance of `Folk Music Radio? as a component of mass media of Turkish Folk Music Revival and complicated relations of revival with other components are represented in the part of the conclusions of the research
