Abstract (EN)
Cohabitation is an arrangement where two people are not married but live together. Such arrangements have become increasingly common in Western countries since the late 20th century, particularly under the influence of changing societal views regarding marriage, gender roles, and religion. In a broader sense, the term cohabitation can mean any number of people living together. Cohabitation is the joint life of a couple in which the partners act as spouses. This relationship has a stable and permanent character, meaning common life and common interests, moral and material assistance between living people and children born without cohabitation. People living together do not have the status of legal spouse against third parties, in terms of mutual rights and obligations, and they do not use this status.
