Abstract (EN)
Turkish people have gone to Germany as workers by their individual efforts since the 1950s. The continuous labor migration becomes official with "Turkish-German Treaty of Labor" signed on October 30, 1961 between the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. This treaty is the first migration treaty in Turkish history. Workers, who go to Germany by signing a one year or two year contract with the conditions stated in the treaty, have experienced various kinds of difficulties, especially the language problem. They have difficulty adapting to Germany and the German society due to communication problem. Language and food troubles, adaptation problems, work and living conditions, heavy work, savings, problems of children, family life, and the difficulties experienced by the Turkish workers have been subject to the Turkish fiction since the beginning of the migration. The novels, which have the subject of the migration of Turkish workers to Germany written by authors that have experienced or closely observed labor migration, are examined in this study. The experiences of Turkish workers in their journey to Germany are analyzed by giving summaries and texts of these novels.
