Financing crisis at Turkish social security system and individual pension system

ABSTRACTFINANCING CRISIS AT TURKISH SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEMANDINDIVIDUAL PENSION SYSTEMTansu KARABusiness (Financing ) Main Science BranchAnadolu University Institute of Social Sciences , May 2006Consultant : Assistant Professor Dr. Metin COŞKUNTurkish Social Security System began to face with problems the beginning of1990s and fell in to a serious financing crisis that from snarl performing of the mainfunctions of the system.The purpose of the study is studying of the financing crisis which the TurkishSocial Security System in and individual pension system a step through coming out ofthe recession. Through this purpose ;In the first chapter social security concept , social security systems and thestructure of the Turkish social security system are evaluated , the dimensions of thecrisis the system is in set forth through the lights of the data from social securityinstitutions and consequently the reasons for this situation and the applicationsperformed currently for coming overcoming this crisis are stated.In the second chapter, after the individual pension system as one of theapplications for overcoming the crisis is defined with main features , the construction ofthis system in our country and the way it cut off since it began to be applied areexplained.In the third and last chapter , the performance analyses of the pension investmentfunds established by the pension companies operating in our country are performed.
