Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to make suggestions about how the sports writers perceive the news and interpretations in the Turkish Sports Media recently, assaulting personal rights, provoking fanaticism and violence, insulting, not based on research, disclosing private life and news sources, containing false items, written in views of supporters, out of ethical values, in a wish of being watched more and being read more and based on the views of the sports writers who have significant effects on the sports public opinion, how the Turkish Sports Media could have a more reliable and respectful structure by considering such ethical values. The study entitled ?Ethical Values in the Turkish Sports Media; Views of the Sports Writers?, is different from the studies of analyzing a specific period or a newspaper, resource scanning and survey studies, and it carries the characteristics of a qualitative research where an interview is made directly with sports writers, where the subject is examined deeply and thoroughly by the use of the first person interview method. In this study, sports writers who work in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir who are especially highly known in public, who own a column in a national newspaper and who write an article periodically (at least once a week) are included in the sampling and the current condition of the Turkish Sports Media in applying the ethical values and solution-intended suggestions have been tried to put forward.
