For clothing, it's possible to gain these specialties with smart textiles supported by nanotechnologies. World is heading towards to smart textile regarding the textile surfaces with high added value. Wearable technologies with smart textiles are expected to occupy a bigger place in human life. These clothes can react with perceiving environmental impacts. Because of the fact that they have a grand potential in the future, it's expected that they will form the significant proportion. They are expected to have a great potential in the future and constitute an important part of the textile surfaces. They are expected to have a great potential in the future and constitute an important part of the textile surfaces. Especially during the last years, interaction between fashion and smart textiles is on the increase. Fashion products using smart technologies are a promising and open area for development. This technology can be applied to woven, non-woven and knitted fabric surfaces. Considering textile fabrics and when compared to other surfaces, knitting differs from other surfaces by means of its soft, elastic and its eligibility to turn into any desired forms. When it's mixed with smart materials it can be used on any surface and area by means of its distinctive structure. According to the experts; in the following years smart applications will have a significant potential of design, production and sale by affecting any production surface. Because of all these reasons, in the thesis study, It is aimed to enlighten the use and design of smart applications that will be developed for knitted textile sector in our country. Under the scope of this study; historical period of clothing fashion, its changes and innovations, industrialization experienced in 19th century, smart textile surfaces as one of the new textile materials with the development of science and technology are categorized, its effect to Turkey and knitting fashion is examined and it's supported with the related visuals.
