Abstract (EN)

Although proverbs and idioms are normally evaluated under the topic of literature mostly, they can be analyzed in the field of the psychology of religion. Therefore, the first thing to be done is to evaluate the proverbs and idioms that have religious content, because the psychology of religion deals with religious individuals and in this regard, although proverbs and idioms are attributed to the society, nevertheless they emerged as a result of the religious feelings, thoughts and behaviors of individuals. Accordingly, each proverb said by Turkish society in religious context can be studied in the various branches of the psychology of religion easily. This study is composed of the religious psychological analysis of these two topics which take God perception and imagination in proverbs and idioms as the basis. Proverbs and idioms which contain God, Lord, Deity, Allah, The Compassionate, The Truth (Haqq) and The Mercy are analyzed within certain integrity and tried to be evaluated as related to the psychology of religion. Moreover, it was tried to be detected what kind of a foundation the God concept is located on in Turkish society and what the God imaginations mean in religious psychological context.
