The analysis of Turkish teachers' perception regarding effective communication skills in classroom

The objective of this study is to examine the perceptions of Turkish teachers regarding efficient intraclass communication skills in terms of the variables of "gender, marital status, state of having trained on communication skills, state of having trained on leadership, state of having been a manager, professional seniority and number of students in the classroom". The quantitative study is in the screening model. Target population of the study consists of 207 Turkish teachers working in all districts of Kırşehir in the school year of 2017-2018. No sampling was used and the entire population was reached. Developed by the researcher; "Perception Scale for Efficient Intraclass Communication Skills (PSEICS)" was used as the data collection tool. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factor of "efficient use of body language" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of female Turkish teachers. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factor of "efficient speaking" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of Turkish teachers who had trained on efficient communication and leadership. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factor of "efficient use of body language" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of Turkish teachers who had trained on leadership. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factor of "efficient speaking" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of Turkish teachers who had experience in management. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factors of "active listening" and "showing empathy" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of Turkish teachers who had a higher professional seniority. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the perception regarding the sub-factors of "active listening" and "showing empathy" among efficient intraclass communication skills on behalf of Turkish teachers who had more than 30 students in the classroom. It was concluded that the independent variables of "gender, state of having trained on communication skills, state of having trained on leadership, state of having been a manager, professional seniority and number of students in the classroom" affected the perceptions of Turkish teachers regarding efficient intraclass communication skills.
