Abstract (EN)
Technology, which makes life easier, saves people time when accessing information and performing a variety of other tasks, and is effective in creating interactive educational settings that appeal to many senses at once, has become vital for human life. In particular when it comes to instructional technologies, Web 2.0 tools are among the first that come to mind. Web 2.0 tools, which make teaching more enjoyable and allow the preparation of Web-based teaching materials with online / offline applications, help teachers in the teaching process. Web-based applications allow individuals of Generation Z to modify, transform, and share information. In this regard, it is seen crucial to evaluate how teachers utilise Web 2.0 tools. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Web 2.0 tools use by Turkish teachers in with respect to several variables. The survey design of the quantitative research methods was adopted in the research. The study group comprises of 422 Turkish teachers working from various provinces of Turkey. The data were collected through the Web 2.0 Tools Usage Status of Turkish Teachers Scale developed by the researcher. The developed scale consists of two parts. In the first part, there are questions about the demographic structure of teachers, while in the other second part, there are items to determine the use of Web 2.0 tools by teachers. The construct validity of the developed scale was tested through Exploratory Factor Analysis (AFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (DFA) techniques. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was 93. In addition, the collected data were analysed by various statistical tests such as one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), t-test, LSC Post-Hoc analysis from parametric tests using SPSS 23 program. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that Web 2.0 tools usage of Turkish teachers varied significantly based on variables such as gender, educational level, experience, computer literacy, time spent on the internet, Web 2.0 tools awareness and attendance at in-service-training.
