Abstract (EN)

In the disintegration process of the Ottoman Empire, the idea of Turkism came to the fore when the ideas of Ottomanism and Islamism, which were applied to save the state from this situation, were not a solution. Although societies such as the Turk Dernegi and Turk Yurdu played an important role in the organization of the idea of Turkism, their appearance was short. The Turkish Hearths, which was established in 1912 with the initiative of the Military Medical School students, played an important role in the development and maturation of Turkism, thanks to its inclusion of important intellectuals of the period, its emphasis on staying away from political ideology and its effectiveness. Turkish Hearths has succeeded in creating a new excitement and national spirit in society by dispersing the pessimistic clouds over the depressed society with the effect of the wars during the Second Constitutional Era. During the armistice period, the Turkish Hearths, which fought effectively against the occupation forces, assumed important responsibilities in the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the adoption of the Republican revolutions by the people, as well as the construction of the idea of Turkism. In this thesis, the role played by the Turkish Hearths in the construction of the idea of Turkism has been evaluated in terms of both their activities and purposes.
