Modernisation of Customs Union in the light of association law between Turkey and European Union

The aim of this thesis is to examine the current status and updating requirements of the Customs Union between Turkey and the European Union from a legal perspective and to discuss the method of a possible update. In line with this purpose, especially the historical development of the relationship between Turkey and the EU; The legal dimension of the partnership and the scope and functioning of the customs union relationship are examined in detail. In the study, in which the failing aspects of the Customs Union established between the parties and the solution proposals related to it are discussed with the relevant jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union, the reasons for the need for updating and the update method alternatives are given.
