Abstract (EN)

Emerging markets term has begun to use after the 1980s to express developing countries. Brazil, Russia, India and China which outshine among from emerging markets with their economic success came together and constituted BRICS group. Afterward South Africa was included to group and became BRICS. After this countries started to find voice in as BRICS, their economic indicators got better. Thus, it is believed that this countries will become the biggest economies in the world order in future. In this study, we examine that whether Turkey will join to group, if join, what kind a contribution will provide to Turkey and BRICS group. With increasing importance of BRICS group, the trade between Turkey and BRICS countries came into prominence. Some econometric studies and its results took place in this study which examine the trade volume between Turkey and BRICS countries. As a result of the examination, we reached that there are important advantages if Turkey joins the group. However, Turkey also has a strategic importance for BRICS group. In future, including to BRICS group in terms of Turkey is a strong probability. Keywords: BRICS, emerging markets, Turkey, trade, economic growth.
