Examination of graphic design applications in media organs in Turkey

This study covers the historical development of the process from the pre Republican and post-Republican era to the present and the basics of design.Printed publications have come a long way after the invention of the printing press, starting from the era of writing, and have come to the present day as digital publications with the innovations brought by the globalizing world. In the pre-republican period, with the late arrival of the printing press, it was observed that the development processes of the press were incomplete. However, Turkey held to producing with its perfect sense of humor and improved itself in humor magazines as well as in newspapers. Digital broadcasting has brought about significant differentation in the format and lifestyle of print publication and many printed designs. Although the transition period to computer aided design has reduced the circulation of newspapers in the press, it is obvious that digital publication has reached more audiences today. In order to keep up with the constantly developing technology, the role of interactive visuals as well as rich content in reaching the desired target audience has been above suspicion. Thus, the importance of the basics of design has increased even more, and it has become widespread for designs to attract attention and to have rich content in websites and internet programs where digital publications are shared.
