Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the evolution of anarchist thought and the impact of debates in anarchist publications on the ideological development of anarchism in Turkey through content analysis. The publications reveal that anarchism initially emerged within a moral framework in Turkey but gradually took on a political dimension, oscillating between the dilemmas of morality and politics. The early anarchist periodicals demonstrate attempts to reinterpret anarchist ideology within a local context. Discussions on the Kurdish issue and Islam are prominent examples of efforts to localize anarchism. Critiques of technology and science serve as clear indicators of these periodicals' attempts to distinguish themselves from other ideological currents. Moreover, critiques of power and state mechanisms, informed by Michel Foucault's power analyses, have offered significant openings by considering power as an internal rather than an external phenomenon. The study points to the neglect of individualist anarchism in favor of constructing a more collective understanding of anarchism.
