Abstract (EN)
Türkiye's geopolitical location, it has become important to examine the efficiency of border gates to ensure the rapid and reliable flow of goods in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In this study, the non-parametric data envelopment analysis method, which is the most preferred method among multi-criteria decision-making methods recently, was used. Today, when the activities of the production of all kinds of goods and services are examined, there is no understanding of production using a single input and obtaining a single output. There is a production approach with multiple inputs and multiple outputs in the production of goods and services, and one of the most appropriate methods to measure the effectiveness of decision-making units (DMU) is data envelopment analysis (DEA). DEA is an analysis method that makes calculations by weighting inputs and outputs in different units separately and including them in the same formula. As a result of the analysis, efficiency scores are obtained by giving values between 0 and 1 (or 0-100) to the DMUs. In the first part of the study, general information about the land border gates in Türkiye, which are our land transmitter units, is included. The aim of this study is to measure the effectiveness of land border gates in Türkiye. In this regard, the effectiveness of border gates was analyzed using DEA-CCR and DEA-BBC models, which are among the DEA analysis models. As a result of the DEA-CCR analysis, Kapıkule, Sarp and Habur land border gates, among the 18 border gates, became fully effective land border gates. The other 15 inactive border gates are Hamzabeyli, İpsala, Karkamış, Çobanbey, Cilvegözü, Dilucu, Öncüpınar, Aktaş, Kapıköy, Esendere, Gürbulak, Zeytindalı, Türkgözü and Ceylanpınar land border gates. Exits of small vehicles, passengers and large vehicles, respectively, among the expanded variables within inactive border gates, are inactive. According to the results obtained with the DEA-BCC method, the fully effective land border gates are Aktaş Border Gate, Çobanbey Border Gate, Habur Border Gate, Dilucu Border Gate, Sarp Border Gate, Kapıkule Border Gate, Cilvegözü Border Gate and Akçakale Border Gate. In this model, the other 10 border gates were concluded to be ineffective. Within inactive border gates, the output variables of large vehicles, small vehicles and number of passengers are inactive, respectively.
