Abstract (EN)

Banks are financial institutions an extremely important tool in the financial and economic system. The evaluation of the performance of the banking sector has been required in terms of competition. The aim of the study is to evaluate the financial performance in the period of 2012-2014 for commercial banks and participation banks operating in the Turkish banking system by the Multi-Criteria Decision Making methods. Firstly, in the study, Analytic Network Process (AAS) method was used to determine the weights of the criteria. Bank capital adequacy of the main criteria ratios of the sub-criteria (equity / credit + market + operational risk capital requirement needed to) ratios are foundedto have maximum importance in the evaluation of the performance. In the second stage,the banks were ranked according to their financial performance using the VIKOR method.
