The role of education in civil engineering natural disaster reduction in Turkey

The most fundamental point of the design, civil engineering responsibilities, which are the foundation of project and construction applications, will play a major role here in natural disasters. The most important factor for the training of conscious civil engineers is civil engineering education. Reducing the damage of natural disasters, this training, the development of responsible individuals, the emergence of natural disasters, loss of life and more waiting to be expected. In Turkey, the second part of the study dealt with how classifying the disaster, America and classification of disasters in Japan were investigated. Information is given about the disaster management system and it is emphasized the importance of natural disaster damage reduction. Turkey and the examined life and property losses experienced during natural disasters occurring in the world, has been described by examples. The course examines American universities in Turkey and the third part was related courses that are unrelated to those directly dependent on natural disaster mitigation are discussed in the content ratio in the direct course content independently to reduce natural disaster damage. Civil engineering training time and professional qualification is both a comparative examination of conditions in Turkey in Europe. In the fourth section, civil engineering undergraduate students, civil engineering graduates and civil engineering lecturers were asked questions about natural disaster damage reduction and civil engineering education in civil engineering education. In the fifth chapter, to increase the importance of civil engineering undergraduate education and profession and to increase the importance of natural disaster damage reduction, evaluations and recommendations were made.
