Abstract (EN)
Electric vehicles (EVs) help reduce carbon emissions and fossil fuel dependence. However, end-of-life battery recycling poses challenges such as environmental risks, economic losses, and regulatory gaps. This study evaluates EV battery recycling in Türkiye in terms of environmental impact, economic feasibility, and legal alignment. Literature and regulatory reviews were conducted; EU regulations were compared with Turkish practices, and scenario-based analyses were applied. Findings show growing infrastructure and strong sectoral potential. Strengthening legislation, increasing incentives, and improving technical capacity are essential for sustainable recycling.
