The factors affecting the career planning of the youth in turkey and a research on university preperation students

The new aspects of management that was changed parallel by the improvements in a knowledge age bring applications taking human closer to the focus. Thus; Human Resource Departments find the opportunities in this term to increase their own values more.Because of giving added values to both knowledge and technology by human beings, concept of ?Career Planning? was found out by the struggles to enhance and to develop of them. The first dimension of three dimensioned career planning is organizational career planning. The second one is self-career planning and the last one is harmonizing both of them.Our study also aims at showing the factors that influence the career planning of the youth and effective levels of them. Theoretical part of this study was extracted from the related literature by the mentioned purposes above. A questionnaire prepared by the researcher was applied to 300 students who are on the way of entering the university selection examination (OSS). The qualitative study was also applied on 20 preperatory students of university, 9 school managers and 3 managers of private sectors.The findings of the quantitative research were analyzed by SPSS 15. Confidence of the questionnaire was tested by using crookback alpha coefficient. Then the factor analysis, frequency and percentage statistics were applied for summary of identitive properties. At the time of finding out the factors which are changed according to the demographic features, t- test and one- way variant analysis techniques were used. The importance of degrees of factors that influences the career planning of the youth was also determined by Friedman test. All data were discussed by giving tables and graphics.Internal analysis applied on the results of the qualitative research and the comments were written with the related results of quantitative analysis.In the conclusion of the study, Similarities between quantitative and qualitative research study were expressed and the solution advices related to the reasons of differences were also recommended.Keyworrds: Youth, career, career planning.
