Abstract (EN)
This study aims to compare the monitoring and evaluation systems of education in Turkey and England, and to examine the teachers' views about this topic. The data required for the research were collected through qualitative research method. The general information about Turkey and England's education systems were obtained with the document review process. Teachers' views which are necessary for there search were collected through the interview form created by the researcher. The interview form was administered to a total of 40 teachers, working in different schools and different branches in elementary schools, in the 2017-2018 academic year in Turkey and England. The study generally gives information about the goals of Turkey's and England's education system, structure of the education systems, the role of the state's on education, physical enviroment in schools, the studies in the area of measurement and assessment of these countries and related monitoring and evaluation systems. At the end of the research, the views of the teachers are that there are deficiencies in the monitoring and evaluation studies conducted in our country and these studies are not carried out systematically. It is stated that monitoring and evaluation studies are carried out more systematically in England. Looking at the views of teachers about the monitoring and evaluation system in both countries, teachers in England were found to indicate more positive opinions than teachers in Turkey in generally. xi Keywords: Turkish Education System, England Education System, Measurement and Assesment, Monitoring and Evaluation System.
