Estimation of the distribution of life time of the people in Turkey

The distribution of life time is one of the most important factors for the determination of the population volume. Knowing the population volume is of great importance for the future plannings. For the future plannings depending on the population volume, it is necessary to know the distribution of life time. Accordingly, in this study, the distribution of life time of people in Turkey was examined. Obtained from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), life time (death) statistics of the years between 2002-2012 were used. Although the mortality statistics of 2004-2012 were recorded in the age range of 0-105+, the mortality statistics of 2002-2003 were recorded in the age range of 0-98+. For this reason, the data of 2002-2003 were evaluated seperately. According to the general and gender, the distributions of life expectancies during the period between 2002 and 2012 were studied and the most appropriate distribution was determined. As a result, it was determined that for the distribution of general life time of years 2002-2003 was appropriate for the Gumbel Min distribution and of the years 2004-2012 was appropriate for the Dagum distribution. It was also determined that the most appropriate distribution for men?s life time for the data of 2002-2008 was the Gumbel Min distribution and of 2009-2012 was Dagum. On the other hand, Dagum distribution was determined as the most appropriate for the women?s life time for the data of the years 2002-2012. In addtion, by combining the numbers of mortality rate of general, men and women between 2004-2012, the distributions were reviewed. It was found that the data of general life time was appropriate for the Dagum distribution, the data of men s life time was appropriate for the Gumbel Min distribution and the data of women?s life time was appropriate for the Dagum distribution. The distribution of general, men and women?s life time complies with the years.
