Abstract (EN)

Turkey, have been recently devoloping and continue to develop itsrelations with Israel which has a similar administrative structure to its own inthe Middle East. Turkey-Israel Military Education and Cooperation Treaty, which has been signed between Turkey and Israel and which has not beenwelcomed by the Arab states, created a very new balance of power in theMiddle East. The relations, which firstly started in the military aspects, have beendiversified in the other aspects like economics and the politics. The reasonsof these good relations can be seen as a result of their historical friendshipand their similar problems that they encounter in the Middle East. Because ofthese relations, the administers of both country have visited each other veryoften since 1996 and during these visits, the importance of the Turkish-IsraeliStrategic Cooperation has been emphasized for the both country. In this study, I proposed to explain the Turkish-Israeli strategiccooperation which has been experiencing its very close relationship since theMilitary Education and Cooperation Treaty in 1996 by evaluating both sidesspecial historical and contemporary situations that have made them standcloser with advantages and the disadvantages of that kind of relationship.Lastly, the effects of the relations on the rest of the Middle East are alsoinvestigated.Furthermore, I tried to understand the nature of the relationshipbetween these two countries and also tried to anticipate their possible actionsin more difficult times, like warfare. I am convinced that the most importantsubject about the relationship between these countries is both sides?capacities and limits to improve their strategic cooperation.
