An examination of violence against women in Turkey from a different perspective

The research aims to address violence against women in Turkey from a different perspective. In this context, the Turkish literature was reviewed and the subject was handled multidimensionally. The documents obtained by using qualitative research methods were analysed and evaluated. National and international legal texts related to the research topic were examined and evaluated by establishing a relationship with the subject. Among the issues to be taken into consideration regarding violence against women in Turkey; "legal framework, institutional structuring, education and awareness, social services, social and cultural norms, statistics and research, international cooperation and NGOs" come to the fore. In addition, "multidimensionality of violence against women, gender inequality and violence, the impact of demographic factors, effective protection and support mechanisms, education and employment policies, loneliness and acceptance of violence, communication, and solidarity, informing women and support mechanisms, gender equality and international cooperation, structural dynamics and analysis of violence, socialization and violence, overcoming domestic violence, data source and analysis, cooperation and coordination between institutions" should be taken into consideration in the steps to be taken on violence against women in Turkey. In conclusion, it can be said that combating violence against women in Turkey is a multidimensional process that requires not only legal and institutional measures but also raising awareness and sensitivity in all segments of society.
