Abstract (EN)

Cities have been transformed to current situation throughout history and they will be affected by transformation and development during their lifespan. The cities change in this process mostly because of disasters, unusual conditions, wars, industrial progress and population growth. As a result of these changes and developments of cities, the term "Urban Transformation" has emerged. Urban transformation can be expressed as redesign and reconstruction of old, depreciated buildings also by considering the social development of the environment. In order to be able to speak of a real urban transformation, instead of parcel-scale renovation projects, island-based transformation projects that aim to minimize the negative effects on the human health and environment should be considered. Sustainability show up considering a construction as a combination of healthy and economic buildings with minimum environmental damage. The use of sustainability in the construction sector means healthy and economical structures with zero environmental effect. In line with the need and interest of the construction sector, sustainable building design has become essential for the sector. In this study, construction costs of the buildings included in the urban transformation projects of Antalya province as sustainable buildings were assessed and energy performance analyzes was presented. The cost increase in design of a sample block with sustainable materials in Kepez-Santral urban transformation project, Antalya was analyzed. This study tends to make a significant contribution to the sector and literature as application of sustainability in urban transformation.
