Abstract (EN)

This research has been completed on the meaning of colors in Kyrgyzand Turkish languages.The first chapter covers the Introduction part and contains what theidioms are, the meaning aspects which are effective in the formation andoccurring of idioms, what the meanings of colors are, universal and culturalpeculiarities in the names of colors, naming the colors and their ways, andgeneral evaluation on colors in Kyrgyz and Turkish languages.The second chapter is an Analysis part. The chapter touches upon theidioms including colors separately in both languages. These idioms are givenin alphabetic order and we have determined the meanings added by thesecolors to the related idioms.Human-being reflected his love, hatred, cheer, bad luck, shame,excite, senectitude generally on colors. And the meanings of colors,concerned concepts influenced on idioms in the same way.In Conclusion we have determined and compared basic principles ofusing colors in idioms of Kyrgyz and Turkish languages. Also you can see thetables showing the amount of used idioms and their meanings.The list of color names used in Kyrgyz and Turkish idioms is attachedto the thesis.Key wordsTurkish, Kyrgyz, Idioms, Colors in the idioms, Colors.
