Abstract (EN)

In cinema, which is in constant change and development from past to present, the processing of a large number of issues, good or bad, and the treatment of them from different angles shows that it has an effective power.From this point of view, cinema is a mass media that can influence the masses, in addition to being an art branch. It has been accepted by a wide audience around the world with a unique expression language and has started to be consumed more and more. Politically and economically powerful countries that have discovered this aspect of cinema have also used cinema to spread their own culture to other societies and direct the masses. Therefore, the genre called political cinema has appeared. Political Cinema, which deals with political, economic and social problems, has a revolutionary nature in relation to Hollywood cinema with an understanding of entertainment and European Cinema, where individual issues gain weight. Political cinema, which conveys social realities, has also shown itself in Turkish Cinema. Many films have been shot that reflect the features of political cinema. As in the whole world, Turkish Cinema has been affected by the political events taking place in the country and the reflections of these events have been conveyed in the films. At this point, within the scope of the thesis, the study was completed by analyzing the sample films during the political period from 1970 to 2000 in Turkey and conducting a periodic study of political cinema.
