A conceptual analysis of studies on sports management in Turkey

This research aims to provide a conceptual analysis of sports management by considering the studies conducted in the field of Sports Management in Turkey. In the research, the meta-synthesis method was adopted based on the current findings and the results obtained. The meta-synthesis method, which is a qualitative research design, was preferred to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative research findings together. A total of 45 master's and 6 doctoral theses, selected according to the inclusion and exclusion processes among the studies conducted on Sports Management and with a quality or quantity that could support the purpose of this meta-study, were published between the years 2006-2024. The studies we included in the Meta-Synthesis were grouped into 4 main themes and 19 sub-themes in terms of their content, purpose and results. Regarding this; there are 17 studies and 5 sub-themes in the theme of Management in Sports Businesses, 38 studies and 3 sub-themes in the theme of Service Perception in Sports Businesses, 27 studies and 6 sub-themes in the theme of Organizational Psychology in Sports Services, 23 studies and 4 sub-themes in the theme of Personnel in Sports Businesses. As a result, it has been revealed that there are many problems in sports businesses, the most important of which is financial management problems. The solution to these problems can only be possible by developing strong crisis management plans and sustainable financial strategies. Increasing professionalism and service quality in human resources processes can enable businesses to be more successful in critical areas such as customer satisfaction and employee loyalty. 2025, x + 93 Keywords: Sport, Management, Sport Management, Marketing
