Abstract (EN)
Turkey has a strategic importance due to its geographical location. The fact that Turkey is on the transit route of the Middle East and Asian countries to Europe has caused it to be a transit region in terms of mass migrations. The fact that it is a bridge between the East and the West, with the mass migrations from nearby countries for political, economic and social reasons, has made the phenomenon of migration a subject that requires multi-dimensional and deep studies in every period. Nowadays too it is seen that the importance of practices for foreigners and policies and strategies in migration management continues to increase with the effect of international mass migrations. In addition, in terms of internal migration, the great differences in interregional development in the country cause intense migration movements from rural to urban or from city to city. The fact that these increasing and diversifying migration movements in Turkey negatively affect the public order, demographic structure and security shows that a solid strategic management approach is needed in terms of migration management. The purpose of this study is to examine the policies and strategies implemented by the Directorate of Migration Management, which is one of the main responsible unit of migration management, regarding migration problems; To analyse the approaches and strategic plans in the fields of education, health, social, economy and employment in Turkey's immigration policies from past to present; Finally, to offer suggestions for an effective and planned strategic migration management.
