Abstract (EN)
This study examines the Hafiz programs followed by the Turkish and Senegalese Quranic schools. Moreover, using the comparative method we tried to point out the common and the different elements between the two schools. This study consists of three parts and comparison and results section. In the first part, we discussed the definition and history of the concept of Hafiz, further; we talked about the importance of memorizing the Quran in Islam. In the second part, we discussed the history, development process, administrative, financial, and memorizing methods of the Senegalese Quranic schools. In the third part, we discussed the Turkish Quranic schools by focusing on the same points. In the comparison and results section, we compared the Quranic schools of the two countries over thirteen main points. Due to the nature of the thesis subject, more historical materials were included in the study. In addition, as the thesis subject is related to education we benefited from different social sciences such as sociology and psychology.
