Performance opinions of bağlama performers in Turkish Folk Music ensembles affiliated to the Ministry of Culture in Turkey according to regional characteristics master's thesis

This study aims to evaluate the performance views of bağlama performers in Turkish Folk Music ensembles affiliated with the Ministry of Culture in Turkey according to regional characteristics. In this context, the study provides information on the characteristics, definition and history of Turkish Folk Music, evaluates Turkish Folk Music in the pre- and post-Republican period, provides information on compilation studies conducted before and after the Republic, provides information on the general structure, types, styles, oral and written repertoires, regionality and belonging of Turkish Folk Music. Within the scope of the study, information is provided on the instruments used in Turkish Folk Music, and the opinions of bağlama and bağlama performers are conveyed in the study. As a result of the study, it is seen that bağlama performers in Turkish Folk Music ensembles, although they adapt to modern techniques in some places, generally exhibit traditional characteristics and continue to contain regional characteristics. In addition, it is seen that bağlama performers support the studies and practices conducted under the leadership of Muzaffer Sarısözen and find the compilation and notation studies conducted in the direction of Turkish Folk Music useful.
