Abstract (EN)

Due to the lack of our agricultural land use planning, agricultural production has lagged far behind the revenue it deserves. The increase in the tendency not to farm, especially in low-productivity places, has begun to be seen in the villagers with such villages. In addition, unplanned production results can be called mono-culture at the level of major regions contracted level of product diversity. The resulting revenue producers, depending on the supply and demand imbalance has fallen significantly. Producer revenues have decreased significantly due to the supply imbalance. In order to be able to make land use planning and to establish effective agricultural production policies, high accuracy of cultivated land and production information is needed in basic crops. Tobacco plants are grown on land where agricultural production is limited in terms of land and land characteristics. Tobacco, which is mostly produced in the form of family agriculture, has an important place in the agricultural product range of sloping land. Because of this feature, it increases the income levels of the villagers with limited land assets and plays an important role in keeping agricultural employment in these regions. In order to establish effective policies that concern tobacco producers and industry, it is necessary to determine the tobacco cultivated area information and geographic distribution. However, tobacco production has been difficult to track because of the sloping land, in shallow soils, irregular and small parcels. As a consequence, the monitoring of tobacco production, which has prescriptions at the international and national level, will complete a major deficiency in agricultural statistics. The availability of the national and international market of tobacco plants, the most revenue-generating product of low-yield sources, is also promising for the sustainability of production. In this research project, Remote Sensing Technique and Geographical Information System and Tobacco Parcel Information System are aimed to be created and implemented. Çalıköy (Tavas / Denizli) work area of 1 / 5,000 scale digital base map is produced using cadastral map sheets. The property information of the parcels within the cultivated area and other information about soil and tobacco cultivation were entered into the computer environment within the logic layer of geographic information system. A tobacco parcel information system was created to generate comprehensive thematic maps and to query comprehensive and parcel-based information about the locality, by digitizing data and generating property maps according to land properties, tobacco varieties and tobacco production stages. In addition, the updateability of the land use model in the database has been tested using high resolution satellite imagery (WorldView-2).
