The samples of usage of augmented reality technologies on presentations of TV programs

In today's world, the development of technology day by day has led people to use many technological tools. In this context, the contribution of the augmented reality technology, which is developed and open to development, to television programs, the change in the presentation of the programs, and the examples of television programs produced with augmented reality technology by focusing on interactive storytelling with virtual objects constitute the starting point and subject of this thesis. The universe of the research is the augmented reality technology, which is being used intensively today. Because the more up-to-date and open to development the selected universe is, the more productive the investigations will be. The sample of the research, on the other hand, consists of the types of 'news program, news bulletin, sports bulletin, weather and road program' in which the augmented reality technology selected through "criteria sampling" can be applied technically. As a qualitative study was conducted, previous studies in the literature were examined as a data collection tool and, unlike existing studies, the examples of augmented reality technology used in television programs were analyzed through analysis. According to the results obtained in the research, changes occur in the presentation styles of television programs using augmented reality technology, the presentations made in television programs are animated with visuals and the narration is supported, with this technology, the program presenters interact with virtual objects, the program presenters use this technology during the program presentations. It has been determined that the presentation of the program by reacting to the virtual objects produced by the presenter creates a sense of reality and the use of virtual objects or graphics created with this technology in television programs facilitates the understanding of the information presented by the presenter.
