Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to see how the platforms created for Twitter, which has become one of the biggest information platforms of today, come to the fore with false information rather than correct information, and how the platforms created to reveal these approach the processes through the Russia and Ukraine Crisis. The research, which was created with the qualitative research method, was based on the confirmation of the disinformation activities on Twitter during the Russia and Ukraine Crisis by the information verification platforms. The content analysis method was adopted as the data collection tool, and the tweets posted during the process and the approaches to the claims they contain were compiled by the verification platforms Teyit.org, Doğruluk Payı, Malumatfuruş, Yalansavar and AA Check Fact. Within the scope of the research: Between February 1, 2022 and February 24, 2022, tweets in need of verification were identified, shared from official and unofficial accounts that could pave the way for the escalation of the crisis between the two countries. It is aimed that this research will contribute to the process of examining and confirming every post on Twitter, which is a powerful news sharing platform.
