Abstract (EN)
The performance evaluation covering a number of works and activities for determination of the efficacy and achievement level of the employees has become one of the most important domains of the social sciences today. In an attempt to improve the performance of employees, the enterprises have introduced the performance based salary system to establish a balanced salary-performance relation that is aimed at improving the overall organizational performance and productivity through the improvement of individual performances. This study aims at elaborating if the Performance Based Salary system affects the job satisfaction. In this context, the Chapter One covers the historical development, definition, importance, objectives and types of the performance based salary systems, and the reasons to prefer that system, and the problems and troubles encountered in performance valuation. The Chapter Two however elaborates the job satisfaction as well as its significance, concepts and the factors effective thereon. In the Chapter Three takes place an employee questionnaire to reveal the research problem. By the way, the questionnaire comprises of three chapters. The first and second chapters cover the demographic data and the questions on the salary management respectively. The third chapter however comprises of the questions on job satisfaction. The 5-Point Likert Scale was used in questionnaire. The questionnaire data was handled by the SPSS software. The results were interpreted on the basis of the information compiled by a literature search, and it was examined if the Performance Base Salary system affects the job satisfaction.
