Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Anatolia is one of the sites which are rich in archaeology. The presence of weaving tools and textiles, yet there are limited samples, is the evidence that weaving in Anatolia has a long history. Having a vulnerable nature, textile can only survive in some certain conditions. In the first chapter, it was tried to reach the publications accessible to investigate the presence of weaving tools and textiles dating back B.C 8000- 1000. These publications were listed as excavation reports, books, and journals according to writer's surname in alphabetical order. Archaeological textiles and weaving tools were also examined in the museums in Turkey having archaeological artifacts. According to archaeological site characteristics, these museums are: Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara, Akşehir, Kultepe- Kayseri, Aphrodisias-Aydın, Sinop, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Kocaeli, Çanakkale, Antalya, Alanya, Burdur, and İsparta Museums. In this study, the materials in these museums, their characteristics, history, location, and tradition were given in tables. The archaeological weaving tools in some museums and especially archaeological textiles in Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara were taken pictures. In the second chapter, textiles in the publications accessible were given in tables according to their sites, periods, locations, dating, number of publication copies, printing companies, and the definition of the findings. Archaeological textiles were given in tables in chronological order under the title of number of publications with the writer's surnames in alphabetical order. Technical analyses of the archaeological textiles in some museums were also given the same as their analyses reports. Conservation methods in museum conditions of archaeological textiles either exhibited or stored in the museums along with treatments being carried out and some precautions that must be taken were presented with the information obtained from the museum officials and in the publications. In the third chapter, with some inspiration from wall drawings at Çatalhöyük, some designs with kilim technique in various sizes as in originalcolor and drawings were created. One of the designs was woven with kilim technique and natural dyes in 80x120cm. Design sketches were prepared by means of a software called Paint.
