Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to present suggestions for determining the strategies and targets to support the use of different diploma programs by examining all aspects of IBDP (International Baccalaureate) program applied in Turkey and by including the opinions of teachers and administrators who apply the program on the implementation of the program. In the study, "What are the opinions of the teachers and administrators working in the IB program on the objectives, content, learning situation and evaluation dimensions of the program?" was searched. In this research, sequential explanatory design, one of the mixed research designs, was used. As a data collection tool, teachers and administrators opinions questionnaire and semi structured interview form related to IB Program were used. The population of the study consisted of teachers and administrators working in state (3) and private (38) schools applying the IB System in 2018-2019 academic year. In order to determine the sample, one of the purposeful sampling methods, criterion sampling method was used. In this respect, teachers and administrators who are active in this process have been selected from the teachers (n=171) and administrators (n=19) in the research universe who have applied the IB Program for a minimum of one year. For the qualitative aspect of the study, after completing the analysis of the quantitative data, a semi structured interview form was applied to the IB administrators working in the schools applying the IB Program. In the analysis of quantitative data, percentage-frequency analysis was used to determine the distribution of participants' responses to the IB Program evaluation questionnaire. Descriptive analysis values (mean, standard deviation, median and peak value) were calculated in order to determine the participants' views on the expressions included in the IB Program evaluation questionnaire. The descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the qualitative data. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the opinions of teachers and administrators involved in the research on International Baccalaureate Program. Spearman correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship between the participants' views on the IB program and their views on the International Baccalaureate Program. The findings show that the participants think that the adequacy of the objectives, content, learning situation and evaluation dimensions of UBDP is very high. In the study, it was concluded that the administrators had more positive opinions than the teachers about that the IB diploma program helps students to develop sensitivity towards social problems.
