Abstract (EN)
Human rights have been a problem since people started to live as a society. From the recent past to the present, steps have been taken to prevent human rights violations, especially internationally. In this study, one of these steps, the International Criminal Court and its relationship with human rights are discussed. In the first part of the study, the development process of human rights from Magna Carta Libertatum (English Great Charter) to the establishment of the ICC is mentioned. In the second part, the establishment process and structure of the ICC is analyzed together with its predecessors in Germany, Japan, Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. In the third and fourth chapters, the cases that took place within the ICC are analyzed and compared on the basis of human rights. While making these comparisons, the aim of this study is to answer the question of whether the ICC can contribute to human rights. This study was conducted according to a case study within the qualitative research approach. In this framework, the importance of the thesis is to provide a Turkish and collective source of the mentioned cases.
