In international highway transportation responsibility and insurance

Road transportation is the most frequently used transportation method in international goods transportation activities in the world. Generally, the transported goods are covered by road transport. Sometimes transported goods are damaged or delayed in delivery. Such similar situations cause the parties to disagree. The fact that the laws of the sending state and the laws of the state in which the goods are sent differ from each other causes problems to become more complicated. In order to settle the disputes and intend to establish common rules of law, states have prepared some conventions on which they are parties. One of these conventions related to the transportation of goods by road is the Convention for the International Carriage of Goods by Road", shortly CMR. In this study, the limit of the responsibility of the carrier according to CMR is investigated. The relevant laws, regulations and regulations and the decisions of the Court of Cassation were examined. Information about CMR and carrier's responsibility is given. Within the scope of CMR, the limitation of the liability of the carrier was examined in detail and the ways of securing were investigated. In this context, the concept of risk and insurance is explained. Again, in the light of legal regulations and Supreme Court Decisions, it is aimed to raise the awareness of the existence and protection of insurance within the limits of liability within the limits of the transportation and delivery of commodities in the direction of the development of international trade and therefore the development of sound and reliable trade in this direction. The transportation of goods produced in our country to abroad and transporting them on the road has big risks. Shedding light on the concepts of responsibility and insurance has been among the targets.
