Abstract (EN)
The history of clothing has many cultural and social elements that are developing and changing in parallel with human history. Since the need for dressing is among the basic needs of man, it has been shaped within the social structure of each nation in the changing world order. It is possible to see the cultural, social, economic and religious traces of the nation in the clothes used. Intercultural metamorphosis has been in the field of clothing and clothing as well as in all other areas due to the geography of the societies. Uluumay Ottoman Folk Clothing and Jewelery Museum, which is the subject of master thesis, has a rich collection of Ottoman Folk Clothing in its inventory. The bridal gowns in the bridal room, which constitutes one of the main parts of the museum, belong to the geography dominated by the Ottoman Empire (Anatolia and the Balkans), mainly Anatolia. For this reason, although there is an interaction from ancient traditions or from neighboring cultures, wedding dresses, which are the main subject of our study, were used in accordance with Turkish clothing and traditions. It is even remarkable in terms of the differences between the number of clothing of different regions and bridal dresses. In this study, it is tried to examine the bridal gowns that are registered in the museum inventory, sometimes only the whole bridal gowns and sometimes a part of them, and the properties of the local clothing that are assumed to belong. Our aim is to reveal similar and different features of these wedding gowns. In the museum, the male headgear in the window display at the entrance of the bridal room were also examined in detail. These male headgear belonging to Bursa region were classified according to the type of material used and information such as raw material, pattern, color and composition properties were revealed. The data obtained as a result of the researches were evaluated and 4 weavings were made by using the weaving techniques (zili, kilim, sumak) based on the determined motifs. The reason for the application of weaving is to see the effect of the motifs on the headers on a different surface and to be suitable for the weaving technique. Apart from the weavings, 4 wall panels were made and in addition, 4 color variations of each panel design were prepared. Prepared designs were made in computer program.
