Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of this study, the importance of the historical cities of Safranbolu and Dubrovnik, which are under protection with the UNESCO World Heritage List, in terms of sustainable cultural heritage and tourism discussed. Urban equipment elements; It is one of the main factors that directly affect the identity of the city. In cases where urban reinforcement elements do not match the identity of the area they are applied to, they negatively affect the visual chaos and spatial design integrity. Urban furniture also provides psychological comfort for the citizens when they provide a common language integrity with the historical, social and cultural effects of the environment in which they are applied.The urban furniture of Safranbolu and Dubrovnik historical cities were examined on site, and their relations with the photographs obtained in the field study through the historical places where urban furniture were applied were discussed. The city equipment elements of these two cities, which are cultural heritage; Their suitability to urban identity, urban culture and historical space was evaluated within the framework of design principles, and suggestions were made for working areas.
