Abstract (EN)

Health services in our country are provided by public hospitals, private hospitals and university research hospitals. After public hospitals, university research hospitals are second in our country in the provision of health services. University research hospitals implement missions such as medical education and research, as well as patient diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, university research hospitals are more dangerous in terms of user load and fire load than other hospitals. University research hospitals include polyclinics, classrooms, pathology and microbiology laboratories, anesthesia rooms, operating rooms, medical and gas vacuum rooms, high pressure rooms, blood and sterilization centers, boiler rooms, electrical rooms, ıt combines the danger and fire-risk spaces under one roof. In addition to these factors, the number of companions, patients, health personnel and students is higher than other health institutions. In this study, hospitals were divided into university research hospitals, public hospitals and private hospitals according to their sectors and examined for their safety. Active fire safety measures of a university research hospital were examined and the measures taken were evaluated according to both national and international fire safety regulations. The Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire was used as the national fire safety legislation and the American Composite Standard was used as the international fire safety legislation. The Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire does not contain any special provisions for hospitals and subdivisions. To overcome these short comings, the United States should use the standards of the United States of America.
