The invastigation of the relationship between perfectionism and inferiority feeling of undergraduate students according to some variables

The main aim of the study was to examine the relationship between the perfectionism and inferiority feeling of undergraduate students. In addition, it was aimed to examine the perfectionism of undergarduate students according to some personal and demographic variables such as gender, grade level, number of siblings, birth order, perceived socio-economic level, and perceived academic achievement. In this study, a relational and descriptive survey model, one of quantitative research methods was used. The population of study consisted of 672 university students (485 female, 187 male) with mean ages was 21. In this study; Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, Inferiority Feeling Scale and Personel-Demographic Information Form were used to collect data. For the analysis of data, the independent sample t test and ANOVA were used for group comparisons according to personal and demographical qualities and Pearson correlation test and multiple hierarchical regression test were used to determine the relations between perfectionism and inferiority feeling. As a result of the study, it was found that the perfectionism of undergraduate students differentiated according to gender, grade, perceived socio-economic level and perceived academic achievement. In addition, there was a positive medium correlation between perfectionism and inferiority feeling of undergraduate students. It was also found that the inferiority feeling was a positive predictor of perfectionism.
