Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between premenstrual syndrome symptoms and mood disorder symptoms among girls who are university students. For this purpose, a total of 294 volunteer people were selected by random sampling method from 13 universities located in Fatih, Sisli and Uskudar was included in the study. The inventories used in the data collection phase of the study are Premensetrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS), the Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) and a personal information form that is produced by researcher. Data were analyzed with SPSS 23.00. According to the general findings of the study; there is a correlation between depressive affect, anxiety, fatigue, irritability, depressive thoughts, pain, appetite changes and sleep thoughts which are the dimensions of premenstrual syndrome scale and mood disorder symptoms. However, there is no correlation between the feeling of bulginess and mood disorders.
