Abstract (EN)
In our country by depending to the increasing numbers of universities, the numbers of administrative and academic staff alsoincrease in recent years. The fact that people grows up in various cultures andregions inherently bring along differences. These different opinions, attitudes, cultures and personalities cause different problems in employee relations (i.e., administrative and academicstaff). In this study these problems among employee relations were discussed and solution suggestions were tried tobe presented.The literature review part of the study was divided into two. In the first part, the topics such as the structure of Turkish Education System, the definitions of non-formal and formal education, concept, definition and history of university were discussed. In this respect, the status of Turkish Higher Education in Turkish education system was examined. In the second part, dealing with topics such as organizational conflict, causes of organizational conflict, conflict process and strategies in conflict management, the effects of conflict were examined over employee performance.As for the third part of the study, it was conductedat Ataturk, Firat, Inonu universities, founded before 1980 in eastern part of Turkey, and at the universities founded after 2005 in the same region of Turkey. The aim of the study is to examine conflicts among employees, holding different positions (i.e., administrative and academic staff), in work relationships at sampling universities and effects of these conflicts over employees performances.As a result, it was concluded that academic andadministrative positions of employee showed statistically significance inperceiving conflict, the status differences among staff caused conflict and experienced conflicts within organization affected employee performance negatively.
