In this study, the demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of patients who presented to the Reproductive Endocrinology Clinic at Yeditepe University Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 273 patients diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam criteria were included, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0 software. The mean age of the participants was 27.54 ± 5.82 years, and the median age was 26 years. It was observed that the educational level of the participants was notably high; all participants were either university graduates or had postgraduate education. This finding provides important insights into the socioeconomic status of the patient group. Based on body mass index (BMI), 34.8% of the participants were classified as overweight (BMI ≥25), and 13.9% were classified as obese (BMI ≥30). Hormonal evaluation revealed that prolactin levels averaged 25.53 ± 23.60 ng/mL, with hyperprolactinemia detected in 32.2% of the participants. Total cholesterol and LDL levels were observed to be borderline high in 38.5% and 48.4% of the participants, respectively. The rate of menstrual irregularities was 65.2%, and the most common symptom of hyperandrogenism was hirsutism (74.4%). Progesterone levels were below 5 ng/mL in 70% of the participants, which was associated with ovulatory dysfunction. These findings provide significant data in characterizing the features of PCOS patients presenting to the clinic. The results of this study contribute to the development of individualized clinical approaches in reproductive health. Furthermore, the regular monitoring of metabolic and hormonal parameters is emphasized as critical for long-term health management.
