Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was conducted to examine the effect of mindfulness practice on pain and vital signs in patients undergoing ureteroscopy. Material and Method: This study was conducted using a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 98 patients, with 49 in the control group and 49 in the experimental group, who were treated in the Urology Clinic of Siirt Training and Research Hospital between August 2024 and January 2025 and met the inclusion criteria. The data were collected using a Descriptive Information Form, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and the Vital Signs Monitoring Form. Results: It was determined that 38.8% of the experimental group were between the ages of 46-65 and 73.5% were male, while 44.9% of the control group were between the ages of 31-45 and 57.1% were male. However, a statistically significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups in terms of post-procedure VAS score, respiratory rate, and systolic blood pressure values (p<0.05). Conclusion: Mindfulness practice was found to have a positive effect on pain, respiratory rate, and systolic blood pressure in patients undergoing ureteroscopy. Therefore, it can be recommended to use mindfulness as a supportive method in patients undergoing ureteroscopy.
