Abstract (EN)

Together with spatial growth in cities, the old industry and factory areas remaining in the city are rescheduled through urban conversion applications in order to remove the needs of urban space. However, today's urban transformation applications are mostly composed of spatial transformation. For this reason, while urban transformation applications bring solutions to some existing problems, they also cause some new problems. One of the present problems is the crimes committed in the urban area. In this study, the changes in the crime rates before and after the urban transformation in Uşak Old Tannery Area were examined. More than one method was used during the study. The subject has been scanned on the subject, followed by survey studies and on-site field examinations. In addition, some information, documents and data were obtained from Uşak Municipality's Urban Transformation Bureau and Uşak Provincial Police Department, and a statistical T test was conducted. When the findings of the research were evaluated, it was determined that there was a decrease in the crime rates committed in the Old Tannery Area of Uşak with the implementation of urban transformation and it was predicted that these crime rates would continue to decrease.
